Starbucks is getting all the press lately for their innovation in Payment with your mobile phone on the run. But the method they implemented in nearly 6500 stores was a costly one, so don't expect to see the Starbucks-style scanners everywhere you shop. Don't fret though, mobile phone payment is still right around the corner.
You may have heard people talking or seen an article or two about using NFC (Near Field Communication) for making quick and easy payments with your Mobile Phone. And you might be surprised to realize that one of the cards in your wallet may already be using it. Look for the Blink ))) symbol on the back of your debit card to see if you're already there.
We can't disagree, holding your debit card up to the reader instead of swiping it, doesn't save you too much time. But soon, a little chip like the one inside that card (it's RFID) will also be inside your cell phone.
Soon you'll be doing this with your phone instead of that card. http://www.chaseblink.com/ Mobile wallets here we come.
